Simple Living Eco is a UK family run business making eco-friendly and effective laundry detergent and cleaning sheets.
Founders Dan and Diane first discovered the need for an alternative to mainstream detergents when their young daughter developed dry skin and rashes. Although some gentler liquid detergents were better for her skin, they were difficult to travel with, so they realised that a more compact and lightweight solution was what they needed. Diane spent the next two years developing formulations and finding a manufacturer to make the concentrated sheets she was looking for. The result is an ultra-compact, easy to use and effective cleaning solution, suitable for use in hot or cold water and 100% biodegradable.
All of the Simple Living Eco sheets are fully dissolvable and are made from simple ingredients bound together using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). PVA is an extremely common binding agent often used in contact lens solutions and eye drops. It is created from plants and is non-toxic and safe for humans, animals, and marine life. When made wet it dissolves into a non-harmful monomer and does not shred micro plastics.
The Laundry Detergent Sheets are made from water (extracted during manufacturing), naturally derived surfactants from coconut oil, polyvinyl alcohol and the fresh linen fragrance is achieved using rose and lily essential oils. Each sheet is easy to use - simply pop 1 or 2 sheets (depending on load size and degree of cleaning required) in the machine with the washing. Suitable for front-load or top-load machines and for hand-washing clothes. 48 hour skin patch testing concludes that the laundry sheets produced no reaction of irritation and have very good skin compatibility.
The Multi Purpose Cleaning Sheets have the same simple format as the laundry sheets and include naturally antibacterial lemon essential oil. They can be dissolved in hot or cold water in a bucket, or put into a spray bottle, and are perfect for cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, windows and floors. They can even be used in place of dishwasher tablets.
All of the sheets are packaged in a simple paper envelope that is completely recyclable, and we offer packs of 30/32 sheets. They are vegan friendly, and they are currently manufactured in Europe, however Simple Living Eco will be setting up their own production unit in the UK during 2021/22.
